Superhuman! February 3, 2009

One of my really good friends, Vanessa, made me listen to this song and it reminded me of Ethan. I know that this song is about a relationship between boyfriend and girlfriend but it summarizes how I feel with Ethan. I do feel superhuman now that he has entered into my world. He has changed my whole life and I just honored to have the privilege to be a part of his own little world. The world has a different appearance to me since he has come into my life. I have learned how to enjoy the little things in life! For that I am grateful to God for allowing me to see the world in the eyes of a child, my child! Grateful for the blessing of Ethan. Its only the beginning.

So, Ethan will be turing the big 11 months this coming Friday. Then in March, we will be celebrating his 1st birhtday in style, lol. We havent finalized the plans but we are for sure having his birthday party on March 14th so save the date!  Ethan is growing so much. He has learned how to hold a phone and pretend to be talking to someone, he is getting bravier by the minute and trying to stand up without holding onto anything. We wished he would be walking by 1 year but he will surprise us when he wants to =). He is talking alot more, its too cute. My parents came up this past weekend to see their baby Ethan. My dad said he is not a baby anymore. I told him, Ethan will always be my baby! Ethan is drinking out a straw, too cute. Well, I just thought I would bring everyone up to date with Ethan’s adventure.

So, I know I have been slacking in the department of writing a blog every now and then, forgive me. I told my mom that I would write one every week but for some reason, I keep forgetting to do it so here I am. Some updates our little boy Ethan. He just turned 10 months yesterday which exciting and scary at the same time. We were just remembering that this time last year, it was only Omar and I. And now, we are a threesome. He is doing the usual, crawling, standing and crusing. He started this new thing a couple days ago. He does this squatting motion and tries so hard to stand up without holding onto anything. Great for him, bad for us. We can barely contain him with his crawling, I can only imagine the walking.

We went to the Valley for Xmas, which was abs faboulous if you ask me. New Years we spent it with Omar’s family and then my parents and uncle/aunt came up New Years Day!!!! Talk about fun times. We are trying really hard to teach Ethan to drink from a sippie cup. The DR wants him to have no more bottles or baby food by One Yr old. So, wish us luck. Wow..Its been Too Long October 30, 2008

  I know..its been a really long time since I have posted about our adventures and Ethan’s milestones. The last time I posted Ethan was turning 4 months and next week he will be 8 months, oh how the time flies by. So whats new might you ask..ALOT!!! Ethan now has two big teeth and a third one on its way. The two teeth came out back to back so one day he had one and the next he had two. Ethan’s last checkup was when he 6 months old. At the time, he weighed 19 lbs 12ozs and measured a whooping 31 3/4 in long..Boy, is he gonna be tall….

So Omar and I have been battling to see what his first word would be and it was………Ma Ma Ma Ma..I won!! Well, I didnt know exactly how much Omar really wanted Ethan to say Da Da first until Ethan started saying Ba Ba Ba Ba all day and thats the only thing he is saying now. I found out that while I am at the office, Omar is only saying Ba Ba Ba to him…I will get Omar back, promise, lol… I think 7 month age was a big one for us…Ethan had been exploring with the idea of crawling for about a month. He did everything in order..Getting up on all fours, rocking back and forth..Then he started moving his little arms and scooting his legs…and FINALLY, he started crawling last week. He is getting the hang out and loves it..He gets to grab things and crawl away faster than rolling…He is having so much fun.

Ay, the yelling. Yes, Ethan has learned to scream and he screams loud! He screams at everything and anything. Mostly when he sees you have some form of food and wants to try it. He will scream his little lungs out and turn red until you let him taste it. I had an awesome Valley Lemon and finally let him try it and didnt like it and stopped screaming. LOL….OMG, talk about having all eyes on us..We went this past Saturday to see my cousin Andrea perform in the Area Marching Band Competiton. The band is given about 5 minutes to prepare for their performance. Well right before they are about to start, it gets really silent. Well, Ethan decided it was a great time to showcase his loud scream..It was too funny and after they were done, the announcer came on and said “If you child gets rowdy, please escort them outside the performing area” Was he talking about us? Probably… Oh..and he is sitting all by himself now…Its too darn cute if you ask me…

Birthday Parties! October 30, 2008

Yes, we do have a mini birthday party every 6th of the month. We have done since he turned 2 months..These are little parties with a cake, food and games. MMM, I love the cakes =). I thought I would share with you guys how he has grown so much in so little time..I can only imagine his 1st birthday party.

Tummy Time!!! July 2, 2008

So, Ethan will be turing the big 4 months old this coming Sunday. Gosh, where the time has gone. Omar and I are around him 24/7 and sometimes cant noticed the growth until people point it out. Ethan has hit some big milestones so far. He has mastered the art of eating his hands or our fingers (see picture below, lol). That is his favorite pass time. He also has learned to pull his socks off, well just his left one, lol. Oh, and the biggest milestone ever is…..Giggling. Ethan was taking a bath and I was tickling him and a little giggle came out. I got soooo excited. So, I called Omar but Ethan frooze and didnt giggle for him. So, I tried and tried to get Ethan to giggle but to no avail. UNTIL, last night. I was just playing with him and he went off into a giggling fiasco. It was super duper cute. I got so excited and so did Omar….

So, Ethan has some big events coming up. He has his 4 month check up on Tuesday, July 8th. Gosh, I dont like this visit because of those darn shots. Ugh! I hate seeing cry so much. The worst part is the look on his face when they are giving him the shots, its like “Momma, why are you letting them do this to me” kind of look. Then on July 11th, is off to the Valley. There he will meet the rest of the family, mostly my dad’s side. They are anxiously waiting to meet him. That should be tons of fun. We have a weekend full of events.

Ethan is the BIG 2 1/2 Months OLD!!! May 22, 2008

So, Ethan has reached an intersting phase in his little life. He has learned that his whole fist does not fit in his tiny mouth but you should see him try and try to get it in, lol. Last night, I had to go thru his closet to take out all the outfits that no longer fit him. I thought maybe a few here and there but when I was done, I had basically emptied out his closet. Ethan is a big boy as most of you know. At his 2 month checkup, he weighed in at 13 lbs 4 1/2 ozs. and was 25 3/4 in long. Given his stats, he no longer wears 0-3 months. He has moved up in rank to 3-6 months, lol…PLus, they barely look like they fit him.

It is too cute to hear him and all his different sounds. He absolutely loves loves Happy Birthday. That is the only song that will soothe him when he is crying. Note the pictures below. Before and After the Birthday Song.

IN just a couple of weeks, the rest of my family will meet Little Ethan. Everyone will be here for Rozi’s Graduation. Ethan will also get to meet his little cousin Ava Grace. Cant wait to see how that goes. Then we are off to the Valley for George Lopez. I know his Grandma and Grandpa cant wait for that =)

Little Ethan is 6 weeks Old!! April 17, 2008

Omar and I started this blog with every intentions of updating our families and friends on Ethan’s daily or weekly adventures with us but boy, our hands are full with him. You never realize how drastically your life will change with a newborn until he is actually here. His is the littlest person but he is the one who runs us, go figure. Our daily schedule revolves around him, what time can we leave or what time should we return home, who gets to take a shower first, so on and so on. So we are gonna try our very best to update everyone on his growth and his discovery of things as much as possible whether it will be thru a picture, video or a little blog entry.

So, Ethan is 6 weeks old today. Everyone has been telling me that he has gotten so much bigger but I cant see it since I am with him 24/7. His Aunt Beli & Bert, Great Grandma Virginia, Cousins Andrea, Tanya and Noah and of course, his grandma came to visit him last week. Mom was eager to come back and see the little guy while everyone else was gonna meet him for the very first time. Everyone said that his look smaller than the pictures I send them (“The pictures lie”).

Ethan is now learning that he can make these weird sounds and faces with his mouth and he seems to love doing them. He smiles more, whether its a one sided smile or a full blown smile. The strangest thing that he does is when he is asleep, it sounds like he is practicing giggling. Its super cute.

Oh how Ethan Is Growing April 17, 2008

**THIS POST SHOULD BEEN POSTED 3 WEEKS AGO BUT GO FIGURE, BABIES ARE A HANDFUL BUT WELL WORTH IT**

Well it has been an adventureous 3 weeks with Ethan home. Omar and I have found out that he sure does have some attitude and we are trying to figure out from who, lol…Ethan had his newborn checkup yesterday and now weighs 9 1/2 pounds and is 22 3/4 inches long. The Dr said that he is growing pretty quickly, faster than a typical newborn…Go figure. It is amazing how you can pick up on a little person’s personality. When he knows that he is not gonna sleep in his bassinet, he refuses to sleep anywhere else but on our chest. The minute we put him down, either in a playpen or in his bassinet, the tears start flowing and the only thing that will stop them is to pick him up and let him fall asleep on your chest, the kangaroo hold. The other thing that we have learned is that he loves loves loves to fart in Omar’s hands. You guys should really hear these farts, they sound like a big boy’s farts. Another thing that he learned to do is to suck his fingers. At first it was his index fingers but now he has realized that he has a thumb and loves it.

Baby Ethan has Arrived!! March 12, 2008

So the day that we have been waiting for finally got here. We went to Labor & Delivery for a scheduled induction on Thrusday, March 6th. Dr decided it was best for everyone to have him early so that he wouldnt get too big, lol….So, labor offically started at 7:22AM and lasted until 6:46PM with a C-Section. Poor Ethan tried so hard to come but needed some extra help.

Ethan Loera Kasperkhan was born at 6:46PM, weighed 8.0 lbs and was 20 3/4 long.
